    Lesson: Challenge 1

    Challenge: Create a Static Stress Simulation to analyze a model. Based on the results make
    design changes to increase the performance of the design. Weekly challenges are ungraded
    and a chance to explore design ideas and software options using the skills learned through this
    course. Follow the loose requirements and explore the design space to update and create a
    design that meets a certain performance criterion.

    • Set up a Static Stress Simulation.


    • Evaluate 3 different material choices for the design and determine which one performs
    best.
    • Simulation study setup will include the large inner diameter face fixed with 50lb loads
    applied to each boss inner diameter pulling outward from the origin.
    • Explore design changes to get the safety factor close to 4.0.
