OBJECTIVE:
* To craft an eco-friendly bird feeder using recycled materials.
III. DESCRIPTION: T
The soda bottle bird feeder is a simple DIY project for bird lovers of all ages. Our residence is
located in a neighborhood where there are still trees around. Where there are trees, birds hang-
out. After rescuing a 1- to 2-liter soda bottle from the recycling bin, I looked around our house
or yard for some materials that I can use for the project; these will create a place for the birds
to sit while they eat.
V. MATERIALS:
VI. PROCEDURE:
1. With a sharpie marker, draw 2 rectangles the opposite sides of the 1st bottle.
2. Cut out 1/3 (from the mouth) of the 2nd bottle {using a cutter}
3. Glue the cut out part of the 2nd bottle to the 1st bottle by using a glue gun. Let it cool.
4. Paint one side of the bottle with blue (Monster) and the other side red (Elmo). Let the paint
dry.
5. Fill the bottle with birdseed. Make sure to do this in an area where you can sweep up the
mess!
6. Make a hanger out of floral wire and secure to the top of the bottle.
7. Screw the top on and hang from your favorite place.
