In this activity, my students are going to use Buncee to create a slide presentation of a circle, triangle,
rectangle and square.
Pedagogy

Activity For my lesson I will start by introducing the vocabulary

of the standards. Together, we will draw a circle,
triangle, square and rectangle using dry erase boards
and markers. We will then use marshmallows and
toothpicks to create the shapes, allowing the
marshmallows to represent the vertices and angles and
the toothpicks the sides.

I will then point out an example of each shape in the

classroom. Then we will acknowledge that shapes are
all around us not just the class. Each child will get a
label of one of the four shapes and they will label
objects in the classroom. They will further their
knowledge on this topic by:
1. Creating an introduction slide first.
2. Designate one slide per shape.
3. Each slide will need:
-drawing of the shape
-the number of sides
-the number of vertices
-the number of angles
-three real life objects in the same shape
