Method Statement for Smoke Curtain Installation

1.0 INTRODUCTION

The method statement provides a methodology for the installation of brackets for
the proposed smoke curtain system.

It shall consist of

a) Pre Planning Stage

b) Construction Stage

2.0 PRE-PLANNING STAGE

Content Method of Inspection

1. Submission of declaration of - Check type of works

works - Prepare and submit EHS cards

2. Material fabrication (off site) - Check for compliance with approved

size and specification.
- Ensure components stock are
sufficient for delivery to site.

3. Tools, e.g. powered hand - Check hand tools and equipment are
tools, step ladders, etc. in good working conditions.

4. Component delivered - Identify location and routing for

material offloading and movement
inside job site.

5. Work Force/Manpower - Check all workers are registered

with PAVILION and are safety
inducted at site.
- Ensure all workers are issued with
proper PPE and any specialty safety
equipment if required.

3.0 CONSTRUCTION STAGE

Content Procedure
1. Smoke curtain’s bracket - Mark and set out smoke curtain’s
installation brackets that exposed ceiling.
- Cut ceiling to access, install new
bracket and remove the exposed
bracket.
- Measure brackets length required.
- Fabricate brackets to suit in the ceiling
- level.
Install bracket and adjust the bracket
- level.
- Tighten the screw.
- Cut the exposed bracket and remove it.
- Patch and plaster the opening ceiling.
- Clean and do housekeeping work area
before leave site.

4.0 INSTALLATION METHOD

5.1 Installation Procedure

5.1.2 Smoke Curtain System

The following is the procedure for the smoke curtain system installation.

1. Set out and mark smoke curtain’s brackets that exposed ceiling.
2. Cut ceiling around bracket to access.
3. Measure bracket length required.
4. Fabricate brackets to suit in the ceiling level.
5. Install bracket and adjust the level.
6. Tighten the screws.
7. Cut the exposed bracket and remove it.
8. Patch and plaster the opening ceiling.
9. Clean and do housekeeping at work area before leave site.
