DAY 3 ACTIVITIES
A. Mini Lesson:
Yesterday, you have learned how to solve the four fundamental operation in
series :using PMDAS , Parenthesis, Multiplication, Division, Addition and
Subtraction
Today , you are going to perform GMDAS.
GMDAS refers to the order of separations and is acronym for Grouping ,
Multiplication and Division (from left to right) Addition and subtraction (from left
to right)
Grouping includes parenthesis( ), brackets { } and braces [ ].
In performing the series of operation using GMDAS please follow the following
steps.
Step 1.Look for the Grouping( parenthesis, brackets and braces) Perform the
operations inside the parenthesis , brackets and braces.
Step 2. Next look for MD; multiplication and division. Perform the operation
from left to right or which comes first .
Step 3. Then, look for AS; addition and subtraction. Perform the operation
from left to right or which comes first.
4
B.Guided Practice
Directions : Fill in the missing number to get the correct answer.
1. (36 – 6 ) + [ ( 3 x 10 ) +7 ]
______+ [ (______) + 7 ]
______ + ______ + 7 = ________
2. [ (48÷8 )+ (12÷2) -7] ÷ ( 4 + 1 )
[ ____+ ____ -7 ] ÷ ______
_____________ ÷______ = _________
3. (18 x 2 – 6 + 12 ) ÷ 7
(____ - 6 + 12 )÷ 7
(_____ + 12 ) ÷ 7
____________ ÷ 7 = ____________
4. [54 ÷9 x 3 ] ÷ 2 x ( 4 – 2 + 3 )
[ ____ x 3 ] ÷ 2 x ( ____+ 3 )
_______÷ 2 x ________ = _______
5. { 99÷11 + 80 - 10 } + ( 16 ÷ 2 ) x 4
{ ____+ ______} + _____ x 4
____________ + ________ = ______

D.Evaluation:
Directions: Choose the letter of the correct answer.
______1 . Which operation will you do first if you will solve this
expression
[5 x ( 12 – 8 ) ÷ 4 + 9] ?
A. Addition B. Subtraction C. Multiplication D. Division
______3. Rhian bought 5 pencils for P 6 each and 4 pens for P 15 each.
She wanted to buy a book that costs P 350 but she had only
P 200, so her mother gave her P 500. How much was left after
buying the three items?
A. 250 B. 260 C. 270 D. 280

In three days you have done your best in doing your lesson. I ‘m sure you
have mastered it.
Today, you are going to apply all the things that you have learned.
How do you solve for the series of operations in Mathematics?
B. Guided Activity
Directions: Evaluate the following expressions.
1. ( 114 – 4 ) x ( 12 ÷ 4 ) + 3
_______ x ______ + 3 = _____________
2. 16 + 80 ÷ ( 4 + 4 )
16 + 80 ÷ _____
_____ ÷ ______ = ________________
