Class: 7 Week 3
Guidelines for Parents:
1. For effective implementation of Online Support Program, the comprehensive
guidelines/ instructions for Parents must be read & understood.
2. Relevant Course content uploaded on AIS Student Portal should be
downloaded, and studied offline as per subject wise lesson instructions
3. The weekly work assigned will be spread over the week days according to the
timetable set by parents.
4. Ensure good time management, by overseeing that student maintains the
study schedule, to make him/her self- disciplined
5. Parents to monitor their child’s progress weekly by ticking off the finished task
or maintaining a record of submission of assignments per subject / week.
6. In case, online submission of assignments is difficult, maintain the completed
work in a folder, using separators for weekly assignments.
7. Most of the assignments are of language , numeracy and sciences with focus
on basic reading, research and written work.
8. Any child having some basic language skills & Academic Readiness will find it
motivating to complete at least 50% of Online Assignments.
9. Any videos/ research work suggested in the assignments will be strictly
monitored by parents. Help your child in noting down important points or Qs
may be asked in between or at the end to recap child’s learning.
10. If you feel that your child is having problems with any of the task, you can
contact schools as teachers are available online for the support, or class fellows
may be contacted in this regard.
11. Required textbooks contents to complete the OSP work have been uploaded to
support the students.
12. Written work to be done on loose sheets or use left-over pages of old
notebooks with clear mention of Student’s name, class/section, subject/topic
and date.

Proportion
 Read the investigation on pg 20 that explains the concept
Text Book of Inverse Proportion using a comparative analysis of a
(pg 20-30) car’s speed “x” in km/hr and time taken “y” in hours as an
example. Table 1.6 explains how the increase in speed
proportionally reduces the time taken and such a relation
is called “inverse proportion”.
 Critically read and comprehend class discussion on pg 21
to understand inverse proportionality. Table 1.7 explains
that the proportion between two inversely proportional
terms is simply the product of the two terms i.e.
x × y = proportionality constant.
 Read Textbook page 21 “Attention”. It explains that the
difference between direct proportion and inverse
proportion.
 Read Textbook page 22 Worked Example 8. It explains
how an inverse proportion problem can be solved using
two methods; namely Unitary method (explained as
method 1) and Proportion method (explained as method 2).

solved on lines of worked example 8.
2. Do Textbook page 29 Ex 1C Q1a,b &e. (Difficulty level:
Basic). This is a very basic question that tests general
understanding/rationale of proportions.
3. Do Textbook page 29 Ex 1C Q 3. (Difficulty level:
Basic). This question requires you to use the acquired
knowledge about the relation x × y = proportionality
constant. Q6-7 and Q 9-10 will also be done on similar
lines
4. Do Textbook page 28 Ex 1C Q 6-7. (Difficulty level:
Intermediate).
5. Do Textbook page 29 Ex 1C Q 9 &10. (Difficulty level:
Intermediate).
The remaining questions or the ones that were skipped
