Interview:

A. On the changes they have experienced in terms of the following aspects: physical, emotional, social,
and spiritual aspect.

In terms of physical, she mostly focused on talking about how she loses her balance at times
especially when walking. She described it as feeling like something was pulling on her legs thus
causing her to trip and fall. From the emotional aspect, she is very headstrong with expressing her
emotions and has commented that nothing has changed from how she handled her emotions from
when she was young. For the social part, she engages into daily chitchats with our neighbors and is
not afraid to voice out her opinions may it be good or bad. And lastly for the spiritual part, she
always goes to church to attend Sunday masses before the pandemic and would also pray the rosary
on selected days, but when the pandemic started, she was not able to attend Sunday masses, but
she still continued praying the rosary.

B. What are some characteristics they possess that might have contributed to healthy aging?

She is a woman that is full of energy and is always on the move. She is very strong-willed
and does what she wants to do. She is not that much of a health-conscious eater but she never
forgets to eat her daily dose of vegetables and fruits.

C. What are the activities they have done in the past that gave them feelings of productivity and
compare it to their present situation? Explore their current activities which can provide motivation
and accomplishment.

She is a businesswoman. She buys and sells sacks and would travel to different places
around in search of sacks to buy and would then deliver them to her main client. She sells lumpia
and even makes her own lumpia wrappers after which she delivers the lumpias to her clients. She
also makes and sells puto and budbod to which she then delivers them to her clients. She is a good
cook and can cook a wide variety of dishes. Now, she doesn’t buy and sell sacks anymore but her
skills are still there as she mentors my father who followed her steps in the business. She still can
cook lumpias, make lumpia wrappers, budbod, puto and different types of dished. Some activities
that provide motivation and accomplishment for her are budgeting our family’s food expenses,
cooking for the entire family and gardening.
