Republic Act (RA) 9163 establishes the National Service Training Program (NSTP) for tertiary level
students. The objective of the Act is to encourage the youth to become civic leaders and volunteers who
could be called upon by nation in case their service is needed.

Unfortunately, with the current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, the University of the Cordilleras
was challenged to come up with innovative strategies to adjust to the needs of the new normal. It has to
consider the safety of the students, the teachers, and the partner communities while meeting the objectives
of the NSTP program.

Technology has become instrumental in this trying time; hence the possibility of attaining the NSTP
objectives is possible. The enrolled students of NSTP 2 will therefore take the opportunity to reach out to
your Barangay in delivering awareness and providing information through the use of technology such as
various social media platforms.

The undersigned students are humbly requesting your good office to seek approval and support for the
students in fulfilling the objective of the said program.
