MATH Values:

A. Engage
1. Show the different images on pages 83-86 of the worktext. Identify the
different images
2. What are the different lines in the images?
3. Find a partner and then ask your partner to this following questions
What is line? It is always straight? Why?
B. Explore:
1. Show images of different mountains in Luzon. Divide the learners into
groups (the number of groups depends upon the number of images
presented.) assign each mountain to each group for the, to trace the
image using organic lines. Have them do this in a cartolina or Manila
paper.
2. Give each group enough time to research about their assigned
mountain.
3. For advanced learners, have them include a fact box in the corner of
their artworks.
C. Explain:
1. Lines are one of many elements of art and are regarded as the
most basic among all elements of art.
2. Organic Lines are asymmetrical and curved. They do not follow
the shape of any Geometrical figure. They do not follow any rules.
These lines are lines found in nature. Drawing organic lines would
express fluidity, gracefulness, enthusiasm and naturalness.
3. Inorganic Lines are the complete opposite pf organic lines. They
are regular and follow a geometrical and follow a geometrical
pattern and a geometric shape. They are rigid and follow certain
rules. These lines are used when drawing manmade structures like
a house or a car.
D. Extend:
1. What will be the reason there is always a line in every structure or
everything in nature.
2. How can we create lines?
3. What is the purpose of these lines?
Bible verse: Exodus 35:1-5 “the lord said to Moses, “see, I have called by
name Bezalel the son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled
him with the spirit of God, with ability and intelligence, with knowledge and all
craftsmanship, to work devise artistic designs, to work in gold, silver and
bronze, in cutting stones for setting, and in carving wood, to work in every
craft.
Here we see that Moses, as called by the Lord, appointed Bezalel and his
family with gifs in intelligence, knowledge and craftsmanship. This would not
have been immediately satisfied, each man would not have had to work at
their skill to grow in it by practicing and producing crafts and growing in
intelligence to apply for wisdom.
E. Evaluate:
1. Doodle an Organic Line Below.

2. Doodle an inorganic Line Below.

3. In your own words; explain the difference between organic and inorganic lines.
IV. Agreement
1. Houses of Batanes
On page 85. Draw your own Version of Rakuh.
