PATNUBAY NG MAG-AARAL SA PAGGAMIT NG MODYUL
Ang mga Modyul na iyong natanggap ay nilikha upang makatulong sa iyo at iba pang mag-aaral sa pagpapatuloy ng inyong pag-aaral sa tahanan.
Bago mo simulan ang pagtuklas ng mga bagong aralin sa iyong mga modyul, kailangang ihanda mo muna ang sarili. Siguruhing ikaw ay
nakapagehersisyo na at nakakain na sa tamang oras bago simulan ang iyong mga aralin (maaaring sa umaga matapos ang almusal o hapon matapos
ang pananghalian). Isaisantabi muna ang iba pang pinagkakaabalahan. Ihanda ang mga kagamitang pampaaralan tulad ng kwaderno, panulat, krayola
at iba pa, at siguruhing mabibigyan mo ng pokus ang pag-aaral gamit ang mga modyul na iyong natanggap.

Ang Patnubay na ito ay nilikha para po sa inyong mga magulang, nakatatandang kapatid o kamag-anak ng ating mga mag-aaral. Ito po ay upang
magabayan po ninyo, bilang tagapagdaloy ng aralin, ang mag-aaral sa kanyang paggamit ng Modyul. Sa Modyul po na inyong natanggap nakapaloob ang
mga araling pagaaralan ng mag-aaral sa inyong tahanan. Narito rin po ang mga pagsasanay para sa paglinang ng mga kasanayan sa pagkatuto ng mag-
aaral. Naniniwala po kami na napakalaki ng inyong magiging bahagi at impluwensiya sa magaganap na pagpapatuloy ng pagaaral ng inyong kapamilyang
mag-aaral sa inyo mismong tahanan.
Ihanda po muna ang sarili bago simulan ang paggabay sa mag-aaral. Isaisantabi po muna ang iba pang mga

What I need to know

Etymology
Checking it from the Etymology Online Dictionary, Communication comes from Latin word
‘communicare’ which means to share or to make something common.

According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, Communication is a process by which


information is exchanged between individuals through a common system of symbols, signs, or
behavior
Communication is a process of sharing and conveying messages or information from one
person to another within and across channels, contexts, media, and cultures (McCornack, 2014).
There is a wide variety of contexts and situations in which communication can be manifested;
it can be a face-to-face interaction, a phone conversation, a group discussion, a meeting or interview,
a letter correspondence, a class recitation, and many others.
Prof. Robert Anderson of Simon Fraser University has defined communication as the
interchange of thoughts, opinions or information by speech writing or signs.
Communication is the process or act of transmitting a message from a sender to a receiver,
through a channel and with the interference of noise (DeVito,1986).
Communication occurs when one person (or more) sends and receives messages that are
distorted by noise, occur within a context, have some effect, and provide some opportunity for
feedback.

KAHALAGAHAN NG WIKA
1. INSTRUMENTO NG KOMUNIKASYON
Ang mabisang paggamit ng wika ay mahalaga sa pakikipag-ugnayan ng tao sa kanyang
kapwa dahil tayong mga tao ang siyang susi upang makaganap sa ating tungkuling panlipunan.
2. NAG-IINGAT AT NAGPAPALAGANAP NG KAALAMAN
Dahil sa wika, maraming kaalaman ang naisasalin sa ibang lengguwahe at napakikinabangan
ng ibang lahi. Ang mahahalagang imbensyong Kanluranin ay nagagamit ng sandaigdigan dahil
may wikang nagkanlong sa mga iyon at naging sanhi upang mapalaganap ang mga kaalaman.
3. NAGBUBUKLOD NG BANSA
Tunay namang napag-iisa ng wika ang mga taong naninirahan sa isang lugar na may iisang
kultura, paniniwala at pananampalataya. Ito ay ginagamit din upang pagbuklurin ang isang bansa
sa layuning pagpapalaya at pagtatamo ng kapayapaan tungo sa kaunlaran.
4. LUMILINANG NG MALILIKHAING KAISIPAN
Sa tuwinang nagbabasa tayo ng mga akdang pampanitikan, pinagagana ang ating

Functions as representations of real-life expressions:

Functions can be used to model real-life situations. We can create functions that behave
differently based on the input (x) value.

Example 1: Diseases are transmitted quickly because the people who have them are
contagious before they start feeling sick. If the testing kit cost ₱8,000.00, give a function that
can represent the cost of buying kits.

Solution: Since each testing kit costs ₱8,000.00, then the cost function is ( ) = 8,000

Example 2: I have two siblings. The difference in their ages is 8. How can I model the product of their ages?

Solution: Let x be the 1st sibling and y be the 2nd sibling. Difference between their ages can be written as −

Real-life applications using Piecewise Functions:

Piecewise Function is a function built from pieces of different functions over different intervals. Some situations
can only be described by more than one formula depending on the value of the independent variable.

Example 1: A user is charged ₱300.00 monthly for a particular mobile plan, which includes 100 free text
messages. Messages in excess of 100 are charged ₱1.00 each. Represent the amount a consumer pays
each month as a function of the number of messages m sent in a month.

Solution: Let ( ) represent the amount paid by the consumer each month. It can be expressed by the

Solution: The input value is the distance and the output is the cost of the jeepney fare. If ( ) represents

What Makes Earth So Perfect for Life? When it comes to finding the right kind of
planet to target in the search for life elsewhere in the universe, the size of the planet
matters.
All planets are believed to form by a process of competitive cannibalism, in a disk of
material around a nascent star. Small pieces of dust collide and grow, devouring their
neighbours. As they get larger, their ability to consume all around them increases and their
growth accelerates. If a planet swells to more than around ten times the mass of the Earth
before the nuclear furnace within its host ignites, it will be able to accrete vast amounts of
gas. It will grow to become a gas giant, like Jupiter and Saturn in our own solar system.
Such planets would definitely not be good places to look for life.

At the other end of the spectrum, an object that is too small and of too low a mass
(such as Mercury, or Earth’s moon) won’t have enough gravity to hold an atmosphere.

Typically, the more massive the planet, the more massive the atmosphere it can acquire
and maintain.

This is important because the mass of a planet’s atmosphere will directly influence its
climate. The location of the “habitable zone” around a star will therefore be a function of
the mass of the planet in question.

A more massive planet, with a more massive atmosphere, will likely have a stronger
greenhouse effect. Such a planet would most likely be habitable at distances that would
result in smaller planets icing over.

Similarly, a smaller planet, with a thinner atmosphere, will likely be habitable at distances
at which the oceans of a more massive world would boil.

Earth is one special planet.

It has liquid water, plate tectonics, and an atmosphere that shelters it from the worst
of the sun's rays. But many scientists agree our planet's most special feature might just be
us.

1. Distance of the Earth from the Sun


 The Earth and the Sun are equally important because without the Sun's heat and
light, the Earth would be a lifeless ball of ice-coated rocks. It regulates the
temperature of water bodies, weather patterns and provides energy to the growth
of plants.
2. Importance of Earth’s Atmosphere
 It is the layers of gases surrounding the earth that consists of exosphere,
thermosphere, mesosphere, stratosphere and troposphere. The air content
and favourable atmospheric pressure also supported life of most creatures.
3. Favourable Climatic Condition
 The Earth has a suitable climate for the existence of all forms of life because of
moderate amount of carbon dioxide, which is the driving factor for the survival of
life forms. The temperature of planet Mercury ranges from 200°c below freezing to
375°c above. At 375°c, the water would only exist as a gas, and the planet would
be completely dry.
4. Water
 Water is very important for life because it contains the oxygen needed for life and
allows life-providing molecules to move around easily. It continually changes its
form through the water cycle. The process by which water continually changes its
form and circulates between oceans, atmosphere and land is known as the water
cycle.
5. Force of attraction (Earth's gravitational pull)
 Think for a second why water flows from up to downwards- why do not float in the
air; what hold our atmosphere; why we walk on the surface not floating in the air.
The Sun's gravitational pull keeps our planet orbiting the Sun and the Earth firmly
hold everything from topography to all forms of life through its gravitational pull.
The force of gravity does not just keep us anchored to the ground, but also affects
our biological system.

understanding of the specific context in a particular field in the academe. While for professional
purposes, it is the actual usage of the language in the profession or career. In order to convey the
contents of the text, the writer uses sound but comprehensible language appropriate to the desired
audience. The language should be appropriate to the level of understanding to avoid complexity in
nature. Academic language is highly specialized that people in the similar context or environment
would have full understanding of one another. The ambiguity of the language is lost due to mutual
understanding demonstrated and known to audience of a particular context. It is important to include
