Learning Objective VS.10 The student will demonstrate an
understanding of Virginia government,
geography, and economics by
a) identifying the three branches of
Virginia government and the function
of each;
Pedagogy
Activity In this activity, the students will use the Quizlet App
on whatever device they have. As the teacher, I will
do a quick review of the app for those students who
have never used it. The students will then proceed to
make flashcards of the three branches of the Virginia
government. These flashcards will include the
Legislative, Executive, and Judicial Branches and
what the purpose of each of them are. Once they are
done making their flashcards they will submit them
to Quizlet. After everyone has completed that, we
will pull them up on the projector so we can do a big
class review. The teacher will then give everyone
who participated and completed the task a
completion grade.

In this activity, the students will use the Kahoot app
to make a practice test up for the class. The teacher
will do a review on how to use Kahoot and make sure
that everyone is able to download the app. After that,
the students will make a Kahoot based off a study
guide the teacher will have prepared for them. Each
student will be given a section of questions and then
they will make up their own multiple-choice
questions. When everyone is completed we will use
the projector to put the game up on the board.
Everyone will put their code in to join the game and
we will have a big review game. This is a fun a good
learning way for the students. This is enjoyable and
makes them actually want to study.

This app can be downloaded on both Google Play This app can also be downloaded on both Google
and the iTunes App Store for free. This is a great Play and the iTunes App Store. This is helpful as you
study tool to use especially with lots of definitions to can make up practice “quizzes”. A great learning
remember. tool to prepare for multiple choice test.
