Which Bubble Gum Brand Lasts the Longest?

Popular Bubble Gum Brands Prior Knowledge

• I have tried many different brands of
• Dubble Bubble • Extra bubblegum. They always start out with a
burst of flavor, but after a while, the flavor
is gone, and you are just chewing on a
• Bubble Yum • Hubba Bubba bland piece of rubber. From my prior
knowledge, I can guess that possibly
Trident lasts the longest. What goes into
• Trident • Ice Breakers this Hypothesis is its' brand popularity,
the ads that I have watched, and the
memories I have while chewing Trident
Gum.
Materials
 Step 1 Acquire gum brands from your local grocery/convienience store.

Step 2 Get stopwatch ready and starting at zero.

Procedure
Step 3 Start with any gum brand you prefer to start with.

Step 4 Unwrap gum, place in mouth, and start timer the moment you start chewing.

Step 5 Chew until you notice the flavor to dull out.

Step 6 Once flavor dulls, stop the stopwatch.

Step 7 Record the brand of gum and the length of time it lasted.

Step 8 Repeat until all gum brands have been recorded.

Step 9 Compare results to see which brand had the longest lasting flavor.

 Conclusion

• This experiement was a lot of fun to produce. Based on all 4 results from my
family and I, Bubble Yum was the longest lasting bubble gum brand.
• It was surprising results, seeing how Trident and Extra advertise how long
lasting their gum is.
• There were some variables that had to be taken into consideration: no
talking while chewing gum (we had to re-do the results for Newt with Dubble
Bubble because it came out 2x as many as everyone else since they were
talking the first go around), going one person at a time so no one feels
rushed or as if they are too slow to stop the clock, and making sure we all
had the stopwatch right next to us to account for time lost if needing to
travel to stop the stopwatch.
