Reverend Father Abbot,

On request of David Krasevec, a parishioner of the parish of the Holy Trinity above Cerknica, I write
you this recommendation to accept him into your monastery.

I made acquaintance with David Krasovec immediately at my arrival to his domicile parish (august
2019). In that time, the young people, among whom also David as one of the leaders of the group of
animators, were preparing the so-called »oratorium«, ie. the summer weekend for children and
young people who together, with the help of stories, playing, workshops, catechesis, and prayer,
discover the meaning of selected Christian and human values.

As I was present at the oratorium quite a lot, I had a chance to make better acquaintance also with
David. I can say, he took pains to make of the oratorium not only a good time but to direct to the true
essence of this event, which is in evangelizing, the discovery of values, and spiritual growth of the
participants. This has convinced me about his true desire for an authentic Christian life.

David comes from a good, deeply Christian family that's active in the parish. His big brother, Aljaz, is a
priest in the archdiocese of Ljubljana. David has cooperated in the parish also as a ministrant and as a
lecturer at the holy mass. HE was active in the church also outside of our parish. He's been an
animator at sister Rebeka Kenda who, during the summer holidays, has spiritual programs for the
Slovenian children.

When he came home for the easter holidays, he immediately wanted to know about the liturgies of
the Holy Week and the possibility for him to be present and maybe even to cooperate.

However, I must admit, I was rather surprised by his decision to go to a Cistercian monastery. I saw
him rather as a good pastoral worker. However, I believe he has a strong sense for a deeply spiritual
and prayerful life.

That's why I can recommend him, with light conscience, even if not light-heartedly, to accept him in
your monastery.

May the blessing of our Lord Jesus Christ and his most revered Mother be upon you and your
monastery!

Sincerely yours,

Simon Virant, priest with powers of a parish priest of the parish of Bloke and a co-administrator of
the parishes Holy Trinity and St. Vitus
