Case Study

Career Training is acknowledged as an industry training leader delivering nationally recognised and
specialised courses. Career Training is a private registered training organisation (RTO) based in
Geraldton, Western Australia with satellite offices in Broome, Derby and Perth.

Registered training organisations (RTOs) are those training providers registered by ASQA (or, in some
cases, a state regulator) to deliver vocational education and training (VET) services.

RTOs are recognised as providers of quality-assured and nationally recognised training and
qualifications.
Only RTOs can:

 deliver nationally recognised courses and accredited Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF)
VET qualifications,
 apply for Australian, state and territory funding to deliver vocational education and training.

RTOs can offer qualifications at the following levels:

 Certificates I, II, III and IV


 Diploma
 Advanced Diploma
 Vocational Graduate Certificate
 Vocational Graduate Diploma.

Career Training services the mining, building, civil, construction and maritime industries with accessible
and relevant training solutions. It also has extensive experience providing tailored services for
Commonwealth, State and Local Governments, Indigenous organisations and communities. Our
regionally based operations allow us to provide Western Australian job seekers and workers with the
skills necessary to enhance workforce participation. Because our qualified trainers and equipment are
fully mobile, we can deliver onsite training and tailor our services to the needs of organisations across

comprehensive safety management plan in place and follows safe operating procedures at all times.

Assume that you have joined as HR Manager in the Career Training. The RTO, in line with its strategic
development plan, wants to recruit and induct people. As an HR Manager, you are required to review
and develop recruitment, selection and induction policies and procedures.
