This document provides a functional description of a test panel for project SN30213. It describes the safety features of the panel including emergency stop buttons, earth protection relay, and procedures for working on the spreader. It also outlines the functions of the panel including starting and stopping it, operating the twistlocks, flipper arms, telescope, and general functions like safety indications. The panel allows manually testing and operating components of the connected spreader.

1 Functional description 1.1 Safety
1.1.1 Emergency stop
The test panel is equipped with an emergency stop circuit. After the emergency stop button (SE1) is pressed all outputs from the test panel are turned off. The Emergency stop buttons on the connected spreader are included in the circuit. When active the “E-stop pressed indication” indicates that the emergency stop is pressed and/or that the circuit is not reset. Lifting the emergency stop button(s) followed by pushing the E-stop reset button (SB2/HL2) resets the circuit. Note: It is not possible to reset the E-stop circuit without a connected spreader.
1.1.2 Earth protection relay
The test panel is equipped with an Earth protection relay, the relay is applied for personnel safety.
1.1.3 Working on the spreader
While working on the spreader the test panel should be turned off to avoid personal injury.
1.2 Turning the panel on/off
Make sure that the power inlet is properly connected.
1.2.1 Panel start
The main circuit breaker (QA1) powers the panel up internally. The safety relay (E-stop) is tripped as default and needs to be reset. (See 1.1.1) At this point the control voltage sent to the spreader is turned on.
1.2.2 Panel stop
The main circuit breaker (QA1) shuts the panel (and spreader) completely off.
1.2.3 Pump start / stop
To be able to activate the pump supply the panel has to be active. To shut off the motor power supply turn the pump start switch to off. The control voltage remains active. To be able to restart the pump after the Emergency stop have been reset the pump start switch have to be turned off and then on again.
1.3 Twistlock
1.3.1 Manual commands
To be able to perform twistlock operations the operational twistlock land pins must be in their upper position. Standard twistlocks functionality is interlocked on the spreader. The twistlocks are operated by pressing the push button corresponding to the desired direction (SW2).
1.3.2 TTDS (Twin Twenty Detection System)
Indicates the spreader is located above 2x20ft containers in40foot position (Single mode). The twistlock lock command are interlocked on-board the spreader control when receiving the “TTDS-Fault”.

1.4 Flipper arms
1.4.1 Manual commands
The desired Flipper arm(s) is selected by selecting the flipper switch buttons (SV3 to SV6). All Flipper arm(s) controlled with the flipper switch button (SV2). Note: Be careful when operating the Flipper arms!! Make sure no one is near when it is in operation mode.
1.5 Single Telescope
1.5.1 Telescope commands
To be able to perform telescope operations the operational twistlock land pins must be in their lower position. The telescope is operated by pressing the push button corresponding to the desired position (SW3). Important: If the spreader is in an undefined position when a 20ft or 40ft or command is given the spreader might start travelling away from the desired position until a defined position is recognised.
1.6 General Functions
1.6.1 Safety indication
Among the safety indication is the Motor Supply on (SB1/HL1). Emergency Stop is to show an emergency stop has taken place. Note: After Emergency Stop has been noted and action taken, the panel needs to be reset for normal functions. See (1.1.1).
1.7 Twin lift
1.7.1 Twin lift commands
To be able to perform twin lift operations the spreader has to be in 40ft position, the operational twistlock land pins must be in their lower position. The twin lift is operated by turning the spreader mode switch corresponding to the desired direction (SV7). Note: After an emergency reset the setting of the spreader mode switch will not be effective until the switch have been turned to “single mode”- Twin up position followed by “Twin mode”- twin down position.
1.7.2 Lamp Test
This is to show functional on the test light (SB6) to detect whether a test light is still in working mode. Note: If all the lights are functional, all the working lights shall show up.
