I. Panuto: Basahin at intindihin ang nilalaman ng maikling kwento at punuan ng tamang


datos ang form o borrower’s card pagkatapos basahin ang kwento.

Si Maria Santos ay isang mag- aaral ng Paaralang Elementarya ng Masagana.


Siya ay nasa ika-limang baitang, pangkat- Bayabas. Masipag, matalino, tapat at
responsible siya. Lumaki siya sa piling ng kanyang lolo at lola.

Ika- 22 ng Pebrero 2021, ala-singko ng umaga (5:00) ang oras ng kanyang


paggising. Tatlumpung minuto (30 minutes) ang inalalaan niya upang siya ay
makapaghanda sa kanyang pagpasok sa paaralan. Labinlimang minuto (15 minutes)
naman bago ang simula ng kanilang klase ay narararating niya ang kanilang paaralan.

Alas- sais ng umaga (6:00am) ang simula ng kanilang klase at hindi siya nahuhuli
sa unang asignatura. Pagkatapos ng apat na oras at tatlumpung minuto, dumating ang
kanilang guro sa Araling Panlipunan at bago matapos ang kanilang aralin limampung
minutong (50 minutes) pag-aaral, binigyan sila nito ng takdang-aralin, ang magsaliksik sa
silid- aklatan at basahin ang aklat na pinamagatang “A Great Native Filipino Hero in the
Spanish Colonization” na isinulat ni Juan Dela Cruz. Agad namang nagtungo si Maria sa
silid- aklatan dahil may bakanteng oras naman silang apat na pung minuto (40 minutes).

Upang makahiram ng aklat, kinailangan munang sagutan niya ang isang form o
borrower’s card na galing sa tagapangasiwa ng silid- aklatan na si Gng. Anna Garcia.
Nang mag alas-dose (12:00) ng tanghali ay natapos ni Maria na sagutan ang mga
katanungan na ibinigay ng kanilang guro sa A.P. Masaya siyang natapos ito ng maaga at
nagawa ang dapat gawin sa araw na iyon.

lapu-lapu is considered one of the greatest figures in the


ancient history of the philippines Lapu-lapu (1491-1542) is
also known as Kalipulako. He is described as strict intelligent
and unwavering.

Historically, Maktan island although small was a sucessful


comunity when the great magelan arrived in cebu. magellan
set fire to a village when he learned that some inhabitants of
the small islands of cebu refused to recognize the King of
spain. lapu-lapu was one of the native leaders who refused

to recognize Spanish rule in the islands

When magelan travelled to the island in tree ships full of Spaniards and twentie cebuanos.
lapu-lapu and his men armed with native combat elements such as wooden shields
arrows and spears fought with them. The Spanish conquerors and the Cebuanos with
them returned to their boats but their leader magelan encountered death at the hands of
lapu-lapu

The battle between lapu-lapu and the foreign


conqueror ferdinand magelan took place on
april 27 1521. In what is believed to be exact
place where magellan was killed, now stands a
magnificent monument in honor of lapu-lapu.
This munoment is a reminder of the corage of
the filipinos
