Step by Step guide to join Google Classroom

Google Classroom is a Learning Management System developed by Google for Education. In the training
program , we will use Google Classroom to share all the learning resources related to the training
program as well as the assignments.

Important Points

Important Note: If you have a smart phone, then it is recommended that you watch the zoom meeting
on mobile and perform the task on your laptop, so you don’t have to toggle between the screens all the
time.

Step by Step process

1. Open the chrome browser : Since most of the Google tools work better with Google Chrome ,
we will use Google Chrome Brower in all the sessions. If you have not installed a chrome
Browser, kindly install it before the training session.

• After clicking the chrome browser : you will see the below screen. Click the three dots on the
top right corner to go to incognito window. You have to open your gce email id ( email id that
you have created for this training course ) in incognito window and also have to perform all the
task in incognito window.

Why incognito window:

1. Incognito window : Google Chrome allows you to browse publicly and privately — and it's easy
to switch between the two modes. If Chrome is your preferred internet browser, you can go into

its Incognito Mode to browse privately. Browsing using this mode prevents your history,
cookies, and other information from being saved.
2. Google also conducts exam on incognito window
3. In your main window, 3 – 4 gmails accounts are usually found associated with a window, this
creates conflict when you open accounts with a particular gmail id ( we will talk more about this
in the class)

• Once you click on “three dots” you will come to below screen and write “Gmail.com” on the
search bar

• Login to Gmail account

• Write the password in the box and click next

• After entering the password, you will come to this screen, please click on 9 dots icon on right
top corner.

• Scroll down the apps, you will find “Classroom “ Apps

• Check your email id and say continue

• Click on the “ + “ sign to join Google Classroom

• And click on “Join Class” , don’t click on “Create Class”

• In the Join class screen, type the class code given in the whatsapp Group

• Type the class-code in the box below and then click “Join” on top right corner.

• Great , you have reached to your Google classroom
