The SPES is a component of the KABATAAN 2000 program aims to help poor but deserving
students pursue college education by providing income or augment their income by encouraging
their employment during summer & Christmas vacation. It helps to support students in their
financial needs for school; for tuition, books or even for their online classes. This is also a good
opportunity for student to be prepared in the field of working, where they experience working
with other people and helps to develop their skills.

It was my second time and this will be my last time to be a SPES beneficiary. It was great
experience to be part of this program because I learn a lot from it. From this year I was assign in
Treasury Office, where they serve to maintain and update tax information system of the LGU
and to properly manage and handle the financial funds of the LGU concerned with proper care
and according to prescribed rules and regulations. They assigned me to arrange and compile
requirements and payroll of SAP Beneficiaries. Those requirements and payroll will be
transferred into different offices; to Accounting, COA and DSWD. From this task I also learn to
used photocopier, I’m happy to learn this things because I think this will be useful for me. They
also teach us to encode

I’m grateful to be part of this program where I develop some skills especially in
communication, because of answering telephone calls from other offices. This would be helpful
for me as an Education students because it also serve as practice for me in communicating with
other people, and also socialising with my co-workers. And I believe that everything that I’ve
learned from this experience would be helpful for me in the future. I’m thankful for this
opportunity and to those people who’s part of this program.
