I believe in protecting the environment.

I believe in conservation and preservation, in

parks and wilderness, in using, enjoying, and stewarding our natural environment. We have a
duty to make this world a safer and cleaner place. A very good morning I bid to all, I am
Maybelly Cris B. Canete, proudly standing here as the representative of the Save the World
Organization, and I am really honored to be given this opportunity to talk to all of you today. In
conjunction with the “Love our Earth” campaign.

What is environment? I know in myself that we all have different perspective or

definition for this single word, in my own perspective I address our environment as the
surroundings in which we all humans or plants and animals live. Do we want to live in an
environment that are horrible or unhealthy? Never…No, am I right…! We all want to live in the
environment that is healthy and a safe for us and others. We all have the ideal environment
which is the one that does not lead to human disease or virus like the one that we are
experiencing right now, the virus that affected billions of people and the extinction of natural
resources, plants and animals. We are responsible for pollution in the environment. Continuous
imbalanced temperature of the Earth because of the many man-made and natural means leads to
the various natural calamities and hazards causing disturbance to a great extent to the
harmonious existence of human and all other living beings. Knowing this that we are ruining the
surroundings for us as well as future generation, we should stop right away. We should be
cautious of our activities that threaten our environment. We need to be cautious and have control
on our actions and we will surely end up at least reducing the bad effects and doing our part in
saving the environment. Every action of ours has a result and consequence, result might be the
one that we want for but mostly the consequences are the ones that can be classified as good and
bad for the environment.

Love our Earth is to bring people together in community to work on issues that are
relevant to all of our lives, such as violence prevention and environmental restoration. This Love
our Earth campaign starts with each one of us. I also urge you to continue to work within your
own communities to encourage your friends, your neighbors, your work colleagues to understand
the role the whole community can play in protecting the environment. Not just today, but every
day. A friendly reminder for all of “Please do not litter”. I would like to make an appeal for full
cooperation from all parties to make this campaign a success and please do your bit and monitor
the activities you perform and also educate others to safeguard their actions and protect the
environment. We should promote and contribute to the projects run by the government and
various NGOs that focus on saving the environment
