REFLECTION PAPER

INSET 2020

I thank God for the wonderful and substantial INSET I ever had since I was assigned in DEPED
Dayhagan National High School.

FIRST DAY (December 14, 2020)

Everybody was excited, active and participative. The house rules were given by our newly promoted
Head Teacher III. That’s what I am holding on until the INSET finished. No exit while the training is going on.
That’s why till the end, I was a good listener and stand out all the time. There was a great variety of tasks on
the first day of INSET which focused on D.O. No. 31 s. 2020 (Interim Guidelines for Assessment in Grading in
Light of the Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan in which provided me with different insights about Interim
Guidelines for Assessment in Grading in Light of the Basic Education Learning during Pandemic time. I was
updated how to assessed our learners and how to cope their learnings during this time. This day provided me
some reminders that teachers must keep on time in checking and recording the written and performance tasks
of students so that we can give feedback and remediation to our learners and parents on time.

SECOND DAY (December 15, 2020)

“Every gising is a blessing”, this were the words that our Principal IV uttered that marked my mindset
since then. The day focused on how to write an Action Research which gave me more insights and learnings
about it. The one phrase caught on my mind was from Mam Jerrelyn Magtagad that keep on reading to gain
more knowledge for your problem.

THIRD DAY (December 16, 2020)

The day started with JHS BE-LCP. It was a presentation that shows the conduction of BE-LCP in
Dayhagan National High School. After that, the training focused on GAD roles in which the Gender equality is
the priority, Child Protection Policy, VAWC (Violence against Women and Children) and GAD Plan and Budget
2021 together with GAR (GAD Accomplishment Report 2020). I gained more knowledge about the Legal
Bases for our protection and safety. School Based Management was tackled on the afternoon session for us
teachers be updated in school achievement and improvement.

FOURTH DAY (December 17, 2020)

Promotion and reclassification were the topics. We need to improve our self. We need to be diligent
for us to promote. Professional developments such as taking Master’s Degree, attending seminars and
trainings and innovations (making an Action Research and Demonstration). We have to invest for our
progress. We have to respect and be kind to the principal for them to recommend us in promotion. Additional
information about MELC that afternoon given by Sir Chris Tenorio. Last but not the least, the most important
“The Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers”. “Ignorance of the Law excuses No One”. A very nice and
fruitful day for me.

FIFTH DAY (December 18, 2020)

Reality Check (Sagana Ngayon, Gutom na Bukas). We need to save money. We have the equation
“Income – Savings = Consumption”. The best equation that can help us for our future. Then, we have to take
notes for all our expenses. There comes the quotations, “Health is Wealth”.
Our Bookkeeper gave also some information about the School Financing & Budgeting especially the
MOOE (Maintenance, Operating & Other Expenses). We us teachers must be financially literate everywhere,
in our life and school.
Again, the last but not the least, “Growing in the Holy Spirit”. The best topic for the entire INSET 2020.
We have to pray faithfully, intensely and from the heart purely. Reading the Bible is the key for us to change
better, good and best person. Sharing experiences with God is the best.

SIXTH DAY
Gift-giving. The principal gave us information about face-to-face trial this coming January 2021.
