Biography
• Ng Hock Cheong works in Denka Singapore since 1984 in manufacturing of acetylene black for 26
years and transfer to Styrenic plant as head, maintenance since. Involve in leading DCS engineering
of manufacturing of acetylene black. Involve in leading digital transformation by IIOT in improving of
maintenance methods such as asset vibration monitoring, steam traps monitoring for energy saving,
utilities equipment online monitoring through Modbus terminal with Scada system, Current Signature
monitoring of critical MV motors & LV motors, smart sensors installation on other motors. On current
projects with Emerson include Nikkiso canned pump E-monitoring bearing remote system with
Scada system, Plant-web Optics, leakage monitoring of PRV, Rupture disc, wireless PG installation
and assist in improving digitization for operation excellence.

Topic: • Denka Singapore has been facing challenges with manual operation and

• Bijaya is a Sr Service Consultant and certified instructor for flow meters, particularly Coriolis,
Mag ,Vortex meters & Liquid and Gas density meters. He has over 25 years of experience in
the flow metering and instrumentation in oil & gas environment. He has worked in a large oil
refinery taking care of flow metering and instrumentation. He is a Subject Matter Expert (SME)
in above mentioned flow products in Asia Pacific and responsible for taking care of escalated
service and application issues in the region. He is also involved with Singapore Chemical
Industry Council & Enterprise Singapore in formulating Singapore Standards for mass flow
meters for bunkering industry, oil terminals and utility air energy efficiency calculations using
