OUR MISSION - Thayne Elementary is dedicated to the ABC’s of Education:

CLASSROOM  PLACEMENT  for  2011-‐2012:    Many  things  are  considered  as  we  make  class  assignments  for
the  next  school  year.      We  hope  the  following  information  will  be  beneficial  to  parents:

• Classroom   teachers   have   the   responsibility   to   place   all   children   within   an   environment   that   best
suits   their   academic,   social,   and   behavioral   needs.     Final   classroom   placement   will   be   the
responsibility  of  the  teachers  and  the  principal.

• However,   we   are   aware   that   parents   may   have   some   crucial   information   to   help   with
placements.    Beginning  this  year,  we  are  asking  parents  who  need  to  make  a  request  to  come  to
the  school  and  fill  out  an  “Application  for  Classroom  Placement”  which  is  available  at  the  front
office  of  Thayne  Elementary.      This  is  a  new  form  that  we  are  using  specifically  for  requests.

• An  “Application  for  Classroom  Placement”  form  must  be  submitted  to  the  principal  no  later  than
April   29th   to   be   considered   for   the   upcoming   school   year.     No   placement   requests   will   be
considered  after  the  due  date.

• Should   you   want   to   discuss   your   child’s   classroom   placement   further,   you   may   make   an
appointment  with  the  principal  by  calling  885-‐7152.    This  meeting  should  be  scheduled  before
the  April  29th  deadline.
