No prior authorization, no receipt, frustrating cancellation process.

June 21st, 2020

On June 21,2020, i was automatically billed for a subscription with Scribd. However, I
was told that my account was on hold because they failed to process my payment. But a
notification came to my phone showing that money had been taken out my account by
Scribd. I have cancelled my subscription now but in the light of money being taken
from me, why can't I use the account?

I'm kindly putting in a request for a refund and a thorough explanation to all of this.

I'm still paying... for over a year!

August 18th, 2020
I have email messages dating back to July, 2019 asking them to refund my money and
stop the deductions. All I keep getting is there is no record and they can't locate my
membership. I hate to change bank account numbers for $8.99, it would disrupt my
entire autopay life! I just checked again, having time now with the Covid-19 shutdown,
and find I'm still being charged $8.99 per month. Count me in for the class action suit!

Not transparent, absolute frauds

I have been charged 8.99 multiple times within the last year and no email of mine is
linked to an account of theirs. I have reached out three times now and no response, and
I'm afraid they will simply reply with "we can't find your account information." Well
that's funny Scribd, because neither can I. So we can both stop this little dance and I will
take my refunds and cancellations now, thank you. Ticket #3012522

Hi Casey, thanks for reaching out. Just to clarify, Scribd does not "sign up" or "start
subscriptions" for our users without their consent. In order for someone to have an
active subscription with us, the only way to do so would be for them to sign up when
creating an account or restart/renew their membership from their Account Settings page.
