a Danger! Risk of personal injuries and material
damage when tilting vehicle front hood.
Risk of personal injuries when shutting
vehicle front hood.
Be sure the space at front of vehicle is enough AS88.40-B-0001-01A
and clear of objects and persons. Allways tilt
hood as far as the end position and secure it
with the safety rod. After shutting the hood,
ensure its correct locking.

1.1 Tilting the engine hood. Trucks with engine 457.924/931. AR88.40-B-1000B

damage when tilting and returning vehicle clear of objects and persons. Always tilt cabin

2.1 Removing the engine hood inside vehicle Trucks fitted with engine 457.924/931. AR88.40-B-1100A
cabin. i When valve covers of cylinder head 5 and
6 are to be removed.

3 Remove capscrews (1). n BA01.20-B-1001-01B

4 Take off valve cover (2) and gasket (3). i Installation: Clean contact surfaces and
replace gasket (3).

5 Install in the reverse order.
