Texto vocabulario técnico

As a music teacher, I usually deal with many experiences concerning music changes through time.
This phenomenon allows me to study the intricacies of my profession and the ways in which I can
become a better educator. In the following paragraphs, I will describe my relationship with music
and my thoughts regarding certain aspects of this beautiful art.

One of the first things that the 21 st century has highlighted is the proliferation of music videos and
the media in which one can watch them. I must admit that I enjoy watching music videos,
especially the ones related to gospel or praise music. I feel that the combination of music and the
images allows you to have a more meaningful experience. Similarly, videos add a possible
interpretation of the lyrics and the melody of the song.

As for mixing my body with music, I do like dancing, although I do not do it very often since I hardly
ever attend parties or reunions of the like. The rhythms I enjoy dancing the most are salsa,
merengue and tropical music. I also consider that dancing is a very healthy and powerful hobby
that increases one’s happiness.

Although I love singing, one irony about myself is that I do not sing while I take a bath. While I am
showering, I am always focused on the things I will have to do next, so signing is never a part of
the equation. I understand why people sing while they take a bath, but I consider that singing
while showering is a factor that takes a lot of valuable time.

Regarding music and drugs, I do consider that there is a relationship between music and drugs.
Drugs are substances that unchain certain reactions in our brains, reactions that somehow become
an addiction. Thus, similar to drugs, music triggers reactions and feelings in ourselves that entail an
imminent dependence. However, unlike drugs, music does not damage our bodies; music only
exists to awake pleasure and loosen the soul.

Concerning music shows on TV, I must admit that I am not a huge fan since I think that those
shows are rigged, so a lot of talent is neglected, however, sometimes I do watch “Yo me llamo” or
“La voz”. I enjoy watching those people showing their abilities in order to fulfill their dreams.

Finally, I have been to many small concerts, not very famous artists have come to the city where I
live, nevertheless, some small artists have made several shows and I have enjoyed each one of
them. I enjoy music, is my life and I think that is the art that allows humans to transcend to
become gods.

Do you think your favorite music twenty years from now will be the same as it is

today?
Of course, it will be completely different; the moment of glory of my favorite music has already
ended, so I think that in twenty years my favorite music will be just a blurry memory dying in
CDs and cassettes. The music has become more of an industry than an art in these days and in
the future there won’t be original or experimental rhythms, just the same commercial trash.

How much time do you spend listening to music?

I spend a lot of time listening to music, when I am at home I love listening to gospel music since I
think that it gets me closer to God. Similarly, I am a music teacher of an orchestra, so I listen to
several music genres and melodies. The time I spend listening to music is mostly ninety percent
of my day.

If you could start a band, what type of music would you play? Why?

If I could start a band, I would probably start a tropical music bad or a classical music band. As
for the former, I think that the tropical music allows people to enjoy any event or reunion they
attend to, therefore, I would love to bring joy to people with my notes. Regarding the latter, I
love classical music; I consider it is the genre that achieved the most significance.

What is one of your favorite songs?

My favorite song is Close to you from The Carpenters

Why do you like it?

I like it because it is a romantic song that highlights how beautiful feelings and thoughts you can
experience when you are in love.

When did you first hear it?

I first heard it in the spring of 1987, I was in the school and the one in charge of the music during
the recess played it. I fell in love with that song in that moment.
