PROJECT DESCRIPTION

I. RATIONALE

Reading is one of the most important skills that should be developed by

the students as it helps them to understand more a wide variety of subjects.
It enables them to comprehend and understand the Written Language.
Most of the student population in Sitio Antam, Barangay, Upo, Maitum,
Sarangani Province is a member of Indigenous People namely the T’boli
tribe. As per observation many students have difficulties in reading. As a
way to alleviate this situation and help encourage students to become more
active in reading, this proposal is made to create a Reading Camp entitled
“Pabasa Para sa mga mag-aaral ng Barangay Upo” at Sitio Antam,
Barangay Upo, Maitum, Sarangani Province.

II. OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT

The Proposed Reading Camp aims to:

 Develop Reading Literacy among the students.
 Develop the Reading and Comprehension skills of the
students.
 Encourage and Motivate students to develop their love for
reading.
 Instill to the students the Importance of Developing their
Reading and Comprehension Skills.
 Instill to the students the need to understand and
comprehend the Written Language as it is important in
their Educational Pursuits.
III. EXPECTED OUTPUTS
 The General Expected Output of this project is that the
Students would be able to develop Reading Literacy and
Comprehension.
 IV. Proposed Activities

The purpose of this Reading Camp Proposal is to help the students

residing in Sitio Antam, Barangay Upo, Maitum, Sarangani Province to
develop Reading Literacy. The following are the Propose Activities for the
Reading Camp Project.

SOURCE OF FUNDS
 The Source of funds for the project would be the donations
of several individuals and the counterpart of the Barangay or
Sanguniang Kabataan of Barangay Upo who want to help in making
this project a reality. The donation can be snacks and drinks,
monetary, books, any writing materials that will be used in the reading
camp.

MONITORING AND EVALUATION OF THE STUDENTS

The Proponent is required to:
 Conduct an assessment to the students to determine the
progress of the student as well as the effectiveness of the
Reading camp Project. The assessment can be oral and
written.

IMPLEMENTATION PLAN
 The Project will be implemented in Sitio Antam, Barangay Upo,
Maitum, Sarangani Province.
 The Project components/activities will include the
enrollment/orientation of the students and the classes proper,
which will be conducted from October- November. The safety
protocols will be implemented in classes to safeguard the
proponent as well as the students against the Covid 19. The
protocols will be the following:
 The Proponent as well as the students will be
required to wear face masks during classes. They
will be required to disinfect themselves using
alcohol before and after the classes.
 The class will be limited to only five students. As
the total number of students is limited to 20, the
proponent will divide them into 4 classes. The
proponent will only accommodate two classes per
day thus the proponent need to allot two days per
week to accommodate the four classes.
 The proponent will submit the required
documentation for the activities slated for the
project.
