COURSE DESCRIPTION
The aim of this course is to familiarize students with an overall understanding of basic business concepts and current business
practices as business play an important part in the development of a country’s economy. Also highlight the importance of ethics
and social responsibility of business in the contemporary environment. In this multidisciplinary course students will get
firsthand knowledge about foundations of business, forms of business, general management concepts, managing human
resource, economics, ethics, financial aspects of business, marketing and business operations. In addition, this is very basic
course that allows students to understand the business concerns, ethical issues as well as explore opportunities and challenges of
dynamic environment.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS COURSE IS TO:
Introduce students’ to the basic concepts of business and how it operates in our environment
CO1:
CO2: Create awareness about the basic forms of business and entrepreneurship
Provide a basic knowledge and understanding of the key functional areas of business including general
CO3: management, human resource management, economics, marketing management, business
accounting/finance, and operations management
Increase students’ awareness and understanding of the nature of business ethics and social responsibility in
