PART 1
INTRODUCTION
This course focusses on holistic approach to Project Management. Projects are considered
important and critical to the success of any organization. Successful organizations gain
competitive advantage through the achievement of their strategic plans. The strategic plans
often require projects to be planned and executed effectively. The success of a project depends
on planning and execution within the constraints of time, cost and quality. Effective project
management requires both technological as well as socio cultural processes to be integrated,
driven by a project manager, team and a specific project organization. Project stakeholders also
play an important role during effective project implementation.
This course deals with traditional project management processes, tools & techniques, and
monitoring aspects.
