Relax & Rumble They Did!

It was a fantastic Friday for the Scotties — perfect weather
for the Homecoming Parade, perfect weather for the game,
and a perfect outcome with the final blast of the Elks Cannon!
Fairfield came to town riding a conference winning streak
dating back to October 20th, 2010, and Glasgow knocked
the 4th-ranked Eagles down! The Scotties who were ranked
#8 going into the contest, held them scoreless in the second
half to come away with the sweet 32-20 victory. Then on
Saturday the Scotties cleaned house on another Eagles
team — Class A Sidney — in three straight sets in front of a
great crowd. Quite a weekend for our Scotties.

Middle School cross country smashes PRs in Miles City
Glasgow Middle School’s cross country squad took
advantage of a flat, fast course at the Miles City Town &
Country Club to establish a number of season-best times,
as they competed in one of the largest events of their fall
season.
The Scotty girls tied for second place with 101 team
points, sharing the runner-up billing with Laurel. Poplar
won the girls team title with 63 points. Eighth-grader
Kimber Dulaney continued to pace the Glasgow team,
taking fourth place in the 126-runner field with a new
personal record of 9:55. It’s the first time she’s broken the
intimidating 10-minute barrier for the 1.5-mile race.
Haleigh Huntsman was second for the Scotties,
finishing in 9th place with a time of 10:25. She was
followed by Josie Kemp, 32nd place in 11:05; Jensina
Tweten, 40th place in 11:26; and Caylen Jankowski, 52nd
place in 12:04.
Other Scotties completing the course included
Rebekah Bailey, 74th place in 12:46; Chloe Lamb, 100th
place in 13:56; Aspen Probert, 107th place in 14:24;
Willow Sugg, 108th place in 14:25; and Karsyn Page,
123rd place in 16:48.
On the boys side, Glasgow finished in 11th place
behind the efforts of just five runners. The field included
146 runners from schools across the eastern half of
Montana and western North Dakota. The top Scottie was
6th grader Garrett Thompson, who finished in 47th place
with a time of 10:34.
Other Glasgow scorers included Rowen Kloker, who
took 54th place with a time of 10:41; Timothy Pearson,
62nd in 11:01; Jack Milam, 98th in 12:22; and Alex Earll, Sixth-grader Alex Earll (#136) surges to the finish line

“I was pleased with the level of competitiveness
that we brought to the race, and nearly every Glasgow
runner set a new PR, or personal record,” says GMS
coach Andrew McKean. “That’s our goal in every race,
BS
to push to a new level. We always look forward to the CENTRAL
Miles City course. It’s flat and fast, and though Saturday’s Home of the BS Buzz
temperatures were uncomfortably warm, the runners
found a way to make the best of some stiff competition.”
McKean said he was especially impressed with
Dulaney, who broke 10 minutes after leading the race Full Color Printing
through the mile mark. Six other girls set PRs, including Envelopes • Brochures • Business Cards

Chloe Lamb, who dropped over a minute from her
previous best time. Three of the boys also established
new PRs, including Thompson, who has been dropping Passport Pictures
