NARRATIVE REPORT
SCHOOL SAFETY AND PREPAREDNESS

In view of the implementation of the 2021 Brigada Eskwela, School Safety and
Preparedness were conducted at Pulo Elementary School, Malapit, San Isidro, Nueva Ecija to
ensure safety and preparedness of learners and personnel before, during and after
emergencies. Enumerated below are the list of activities that contributed to a safer school.

Safe Learning Facilities

1. Installed appropriate and available fire suppression, including fire extinguishers,
water source and relevant indigenous materials.
2. Cleaned and cleared drainage to prevent clogging.
3. Posted safety measures to be observed in laboratories, art workshops, and other
facilities requiring the same.
4. Pruned trees to avoid entanglement from electrical wirings and avoid potential harm
to life and property.

School Disaster Management

1. Posted a directory of emergency contact numbers of relevant government agencies
and officers.
2. Ensured that first aid kits, flashlights, megaphones, and other supplies necessary in
cases of emergency are highly accessible and can be easily located.
3. Identified alternative source and / or maintain supply of drinking water.
4. Created database of learners with the contact details of their immediate family
members /relatives / guardians.
5. Secured and safely store vital school records.

Risk Reduction and Resilience Education

1. Identified a storage area for safekeeping of vital school records, textbooks, teaching
manuals, computers, and other school equipment.
