ABSTRACT

The purpose of the study was to determine the advantages and

disadvantages of taking remedial classes on students’ performance which can be

used by academically underprepared students necessary to pass the basic skills

in math, reading and writing. Descriptive method was used in the research.

Eighty respondents were sent a survey to complete the 5-item survey

questionnaire to measure the importance of taking remedial class. Results

revealed that there thirty-one or thirty-eight and seventy-five percent responses

of students chose complete required remediation. Furthermore, twenty-four or

forty percent believed that improve the lacking skills is one of the importance of

taking remediation. Generally, most of the students in Bukal National High

School are choose complete required remediation as importance of taking

remedial class. In addition, complete required remediation, measure the

performance of the students, easily cope up with the lessons and improve the

lacking skills are all importance of taking remedial class.
