most common linking verb is the verb to be in all its forms and the modals. Verbs have tense. Do

2 Do you know how to form the simple past tense of regular and irregular verbs? Excellent!
3 To form the regular verb: just simply add d or ed at the end of the action words. Examples of
action words that must be added “d” at the end to form their simple past tenses are dance-danced,
combine-combined, and love -loved while for “ed” are want-wanted, print-printed, and play
4 To form the irregular verb; make some changes in the spelling particularly the vowels or just
completely change the action word. Examples are go-went, shake-shook, and buy-bought. There
6 Time markers can help you evaluate if the action in the sentence in is in simple past tense. What
7 Words such as yesterday, last night, and a year ago are used with verbs in the simple past tense.
