IV. PROCEDURES
A. Introduction As for continuation:
Present to the class the link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OD8k_WfTM1A

Watch a video and find concepts you need to discuss further. Upon
watching the video, write down the information or ideas which are
shared from the video. Using the Performance Task Sheet, the students
are required to answer the guide questions.

Explore the concepts or skills in evaluating the use of advanced and

complex formulas and computations using the desktop computer and
share clients.

Save the files on your Electronic Portfolio and or website if you have
online system unit/cellphone.

Students shall consider the Rubric below. All students shall be treated
fairly in browsing the websites and online resources.
B. Development Explain on how to utilize the advanced and complex formulas and
computations.

MICROSOFT EXCEL – FUNCTIONS

- Shorthand for the underlying calculation
Some of the most commonly used functions include:

SUM () to calculate the total of a set of

numbers

AVERAGE () to calculate the average of a set of

numbers

AVERAGEIF () To calculate the average of a range

if certain condition is met

COUNTIF () To count the cells with specified

content within a range

A function makes use of values or cell references, just like a simple

formula does. The numbers or cell references that it needs for its
calculations are placed in brackets after the name of the function.

To give a simple illustration:

The formula: is equivalent to the
function:
= 12 + 195 + 67 – 43 = SUM(12, 195, 67, -43)

= (B3 + B4 + B5 + B6) =SUM(B3:B6)

= (B3 + B4 + B5 + B6)/4 = AVERAGE (B3:B6)

C. Engagement Develop deeper and broader understanding in evaluating the use of

advanced and complex formulas and computations. And extend
concepts on the use of the spreadsheet in advanced and complex
formulas and computations.

What particular point of view that you consider fruitful as you relate it to
yourself? Can you elaborate further on such point of view?

D. Assimilation Evaluate students’ performances based on their assigned tasks.

Analyze their elaborated concepts or ideas based on the Rubric.

Why does the video innovator reveal his/her point of view in such
manner? And how does it affect to your chosen career and or
society?
V. REFLECTION The learners, in their journal will write their personal insights about the
lesson using the prompts below.
I understand that _____________.
I realize that __________________.
