1.Explain the different models of communication through an example.
- The models of Communication are the theories or conceptual
framework that explains the way of how the communication works. It shows the entire process of the communication between the sender and receiver. It is said that there are three (3) types of models of communications, and those are as follows.
A. Linear Models of Communication
- a one-way communication interaction between the sender
and the receiver. In this model, the sender communicates with the receiver without expecting feedback.
* For example, when the school officers broadcast an
emergency alert on school. They will not anticipate the students to respond verbally on their message, as their job is only to relay the emergency alert.
B. Interactive Models of Communication
- a two-way communication interaction between the sender
and the receiver. In this model, the sender communicates with the receiver expecting slow feedback.
* For example, when you want to communicate with your
family using voice message. You will only send a message without anticipating for an immediate respond. It will take some time for your family to hear and respond to your message. C. Transactional Models of Communication
- also, a two-way communication interaction between the sender
and the receiver. In this model, the sender communicates with the receiver awaiting immediate feedback.
* For example, the school platform we use nowadays. As we have
a quarantine in community, we use the online apps like Gmeet and Zoom to attend the classes. We communicate with our classmates virtually. By doing this, when we ask something on them, they can immediately respond to it. Unless the internet connection is slow.
2. How can you improve yourself to become an effective communicator?
- To improve yourself in communication, you need to have a clear
objective in the topic you will share about, that is because knowing it makes the communication smooth and effective. You should also be thoughtful to your audience because, doing it shows your respect on them and additionally makes the communication also effective. Following that, you ought-to know precisely your audience since they're the one you will communicate to. And lastly, you are oblique to be clear on your message because, being clear on the topic shows that you're honest and confident on what you are talking about, which will avoid having misunderstanding and makes you a respectable person.
