● Explain to students that it is extremely important to know how to
research things online and check if the information is accurate.
● We are going to learn 2 life skills by the end of today’s lesson, how
to know what kind of words to use to search something up, and
also how to assess information online for accuracy
● Explain to students that in order to find good words to search, we
need to use a small number of words (1-4 max) and short phrases.
● Provide an example of something that someone might be
interested to look up and then show a phrase that you would put
into google
● Show an example using your hero
● Next step is to physically show students how to assess information
online by checking information through other sources. 2 other
sources confirming the same information is a good indicator that
the information is accurate

Explain Assignment and MODEL assignment


● Pick one of your hero’s and then you are going to do research on
them.
● You will do this by learning about your hero’s life and then picking
6 big moments that you believe to be significant in their journey as
they became a hero.
● Explain the marking for the research part of the booklet:
Research
● 7 Marks
o 1 mark for completion of writing notes for
research
o 6 marks for writing 6 big moments (titled)
and explanations
● If you have that finished by Wednesday, I will be
able to give you feedback, if not, then you will not
get the chance to receive feedback.
