According to Ms. Schultz that it had been in Marriott International for 11-years, she was only
exposed in using FOSSE/ MARSHA. It is user friendly and manageable. Easy to understand and learn the
system. Trainings and manuals is provided for easy understanding. The common problem that she usually
encountered is that the system is always updated. Management usually notices for any new/ upgrades that
system will affect their manageable. They also have those times that FOSSE / MARSHA is down and
cannot do any check in / other things in the front desk. However, is minimal incident that happen.
To conclude with, each industry is benefiting from technological advancements. Using these
information systems in the hotel is beneficial for implementing Hotel Marketing strategies in order to
achieve a competitive advantage. While many hotels already utilize these technologies, there is no reason
why others should not try them out. Furthermore, the majority of software companies offer a free trial
version of these hotel information systems.
