WHEN TECHNOLOGY AND

HUMANITY CROSS
INTRODUCTION
▪ We now see technology as some sort of
necessity
▪ Technology came from the Greek words
techne and logos, which means art and word.
Together, technology means a discourse on
arts
▪ It first appeared in the 17th century where the
INTRODUCTION concept was only used to talk about the arts
▪ However, technology progressed and the
concept not just only involve arts
▪ But also the machines and tools was attached
to the word “technology”
▪ In one way or another, each person in the
society either directly or indirectly
affected by technology whether he wills it
or not
▪ In fact, most people survive their
everyday lives with great reliance to the
different technological advancements
INTRODUCTION ▪ While there may be some who would
claim are not greatly affected by
technology
▪ The fact cannot be denied that technology
is already an inevitable part of the society
▪ It is with great effort that people
were able to achieve such great
inventions.
▪ It makes life so much easier and
convenient as what can be seen
INTRODUCTION
from our simplest task at home to
the most complicated task inside
the office of laboratory
▪ Technology not just bring us
convenience but also pleasure and
happiness
▪ Ex. Listening to good music,
INTRODUCTION communicating with our loved ones
anywhere in the world, and it allows
us to surf and play games anytime
and anywhere
▪ Almost all activities that human
perform already require the
assistance of some kind of
technological advancements
INTRODUCTION
▪ There are also people who believes
that technology is not a want but
already a necessity
▪ At present, people work very hard
in order to save money to buy
these “necessities” while in the
past, people only used tehir money
to buy things that would help them
INTRODUCTION survive like food, housing, and
clothing. In effect anything outside
these categories is already luxury.
▪ But that is not the case in the
present
▪ Technology keeps progressing due
to not only the changing times and
environment but also the ever-
progressing mind of the mankind.
INTRODUCTION ▪ Technological advancements is
made possible by the brilliance,
creativity, and power of the mind
▪ However, it is important to note that
INTRODUCTION ANYTHING TOO MUCH IS BAD.
▪ Although technology has brought
us lots of benefits, it is not immune
to criticism.
▪ Various ethical dilemmas have
INTRODUCTION been identified throughout time
involving the use of different
technological devices and its
effects to humanity
▪ Usually, problems arise when
either the technological device is
misused or in the first place, it was
invented to produce bad results
INTRODUCTION
▪ People who are aware of the
possible danger try their best to
make others be aware also
▪ In this lesson, several technological
devices will be introduced, the
roles they play in society and theor

effects, particularly to thelives of
the people.
