Most of you are familiar with at least the basic


idea of prime numbers. For those that need a review,
remember that prime numbers are only divisible by
itself and the number one while composite numbers
are numbers with two or more factors.

• Numbers having exactly two factors: 1 and 2, 1


and 3, 1 and 5, 1 and 7 are examples of prime
factors. Any prime number divided by 2 always
has a remainder.

• Numbers that have 3 or more factors are


composite numbers.
