- The bamboo tree was wiser. It knew it was not as robust as the mango tree. And so every
time the wind blew, it bent its head gracefully. It made loud protests, but it let the winds
have its way. When finally, the wind got tired of blowing, the bamboo free still stood in all
its beauty and grace.

contented, happy and at peace.

Activity 3: Explore it!

The man from the bamboo is describe as resilient. The author uses Filipinos as a great example of the one
who he describes as the man from the bamboo. Because of the fact that both are wise and know how to be
able to withstand onslaughts of superior forces and different problems. While, the man of earth is
described as confident. It is like the mango tree in the story "The Man from The Bamboo". The man of earth
was too sure of itself that he will not fall down, that's why he challenged the Lord.

Both characters are the same and different at the same time. They are same because they both have the
traits of being confident that they can overcome multiple challenges, yet, they are not the same because
one is wiser and still prepared for the upcoming problem, and the other is too confident and was too sure
of itself.
