Instructions
Type user information into the fields highlighted in blue on the input spreadsheet.
For Copy buttons to work,
GENERAL FACILITY INFORMATION Macros must be enabled
Enteral general facility information as indicated by the field identifiers.
Dryer Maximum Heat Input (Million BTU/hr): Enter the maximum rated heat input capacity as indicated in the dryer/drum
mixer manufacturer specifications.
Fuel Type: Select the appropriate number for the type of fuel used by your facility.
Actual Fuel Oil Sulfur Content (%): The default of 0.0015 is what is typically used today. If you have data specific to the fuel used for this
source, update the default value. You can use the values below as a reference.
Potential Fuel Oil Sulfur Content (%): This default value should only be updated if you have an applicable permit limitation.
Is Waste Oil Fired?: Update default value to "y" if waste oil is used.
ASPHALT PROPERTIES
Enter the asphalt temperature (°F) and volatility loss (%).
SCF of Natural Gas Used : Enter your actual natural gas usage for the year, if applicable. To convert from Therms to SCF:
1 therm=100,000BTU
1 cu.ft.=Heat Value Rating of NG (Provided by supplier)
Actual Fuel Oil Sulfur Content (%): Update default value, if applicable.
Potential Fuel Oil Sulfur Content (%): Update if you have an applicable permit limitation.
HOT MIX ASPHALT EMISSIONS CALCULATOR - INPUT SCREEN 06/15/2016 Revision
POTENTIAL CF OF GAS USED = 0.00 (if heater ran on natural gas 8760)
POTENTIAL GALLONS OF FUEL USED = 0.00 (if heater ran on fuel oil 8760)
*This data is based on the maximum heat input capacity of the asphalt heater.
