Driving Question
Driving Question: How can I spread positivity around my school environment while also providing
entertainment?

I formed my driving question by first thinking about what I wanted to accomplish with my
project. Why was I making this podcast, and what message was I trying to send to my
audience? Once I figured out that I wanted to spread positivity around my school, I made sure
to include that in my driving question. I also already knew that I wanted to entertain my
classmates as well, so I included that in my driving question as well.

Answer: Find a form of media that you enjoy producing, and establish a connection with your
audience. A connection with your audience is crucial because once you know what types of topics
they're interested in learning more about, odds are they're more likely to listen to what you have to say
about that topic.
Driving Question
Driving Question: How can we create a safe space to talk about mental health and encourage
students to understand what mental health is?

I formed my question around how I could educate students about mental health while also doing
something I've always wanted to do, and that is create a podcast. How could I encourage students
to do their own research? And provide them with information and advice about mental health. I
already knew I wanted to do a podcast, and this platform was perfect for what I wanted to do.

Answer: Create a platform and environment where the audience is comfortable hearing
about mental health, while the host is also comfortable sharing their story or advice.
Also giving positive reinforcement to the audience to do their own research or seek out

Final Product
While our final product is our podcast series that can be found on Spotify,
we've also made a mini interview style documentary that is a reflection about
our time working on Sunshine Today. Unfortunately, we had technical
difficulties uploading the video to Canva, so instead we will be sending to Ms.
Lindsey separately.
Project Reflection
This project pushed my communications and networking abilities, while also challenging me technologically.
I was in constant communication with my partner, but I also had to rely on myself at times when Anu was
busy with work.

Takeaways
I learned a lot from my junior project; a few main takeaways that I will carry forward with me are:
- To pick a project that relates to something that you enjoy doing
- When developing a driving question, tailor your question to fit your project or vice versa
- Listen to what your peers have to say, their feedback is valuable

Advice for Next Years Juniors: When picking a project, make sure to pick something that you enjoy
doing. If you enjoy poetry, create a book of poems, and if you enjoy soccer, start a soccer club. If you really
enjoy your project, then it doesn't feel like work.
Takeaways
I learned and refined lots of skills during this project, main takeaways I'll keep with me are:
- Pick a project or topic you enjoy discussing or researching
- Get advice from your peers, their advice is valuable.
- Preplan your project timeline, and make a document and write everything down in there.

Advice for next year's Juniors: Don't be dumb, choose a topic

you really enjoy discussing or researching, or have a lot of
knowledge in. Mom told you so.
