IV. PROCEDURES
What I need to know?
- The learners will be oriented about what they need to do and must not do during the online session.
-The objectives of the lesson will be introduced to the learners to guide them to the aim the learning goal.
Review

A. Introduction
(10 minutes)

What’s new?
Answer Learning Task 1, p.20

B. Development What I Know?

(10 minutes)
Tangent= a line which is coplanar with the circle and intersect it in most one point.
Secant- is a line that intersects thecircle at exactly two points and contains a chord of a circle.
Secants and Tangent Segments-
Tangent segment –is a point of a tangent line between the point of contact and a point outside the circle.
Secant segment- is a part of a secant line that joins the point outside the circle to the farther intersection poin of the secant and the circle.
External secant segment- is a part of the secant segment that is outside the circle.
Sector of a circle- is the region bounded by an arc of the circle and the two radii to the endpoints of the arc.
Segment of a circle- is the region bounded by an arc and the segment joining its endpoints.

What’s in?
Activity 2. Refer to the illustration to be presented in powerpoint.
Use circle M to identify and name the following
1. Tangent line
2. Secant
3. External secant segment
4. Tangent segment
5. Sector of a circle

What is it?
Theorems on secants, tangents, and segments

C. Engagement What’s more?

(15 minutes) Apply the theorems on secants, tangents and segments on the following:
What I can do?
Find the value of the missing segment.
(Please refer to the illustration presented on the powerpoint.)

What other enrichment activities can I engage in?

The learners will be asked to watch a video about video on theorems on secant and tangent segment in a circle https://www.youtube.com/watch?

D. Assimilation What have I learned?

(10 minutes) Guide Questions:
1. What have you learned in today’s lesson?
2. How will you describe circle?
3. How will you illustrate tangent, secants, segments, sector of a cirle
4. How will you apply theorems on Chords, Tangent & Secant Segments
5. In which particular situation have you already applied or experience the idea of the lesson? (Give one example)

What I can do? (Assessment)

The learners will write in their notebook, journal or portfolio their personal insights about the lesson.
