Introduction
The students are facing a very challenging time while balancing their
study and daily life. There are many students who are facing severe
financial crisis, some lost their family members due to the prevalence
of pandemic, and some students are suffering from COVID-19.
Despite of facing all these, the students are continuing the semesters.
The teachers are struggling in some cases as well. The students are
staying at home most of the time and this is making changes in their
regular activities. The pandemic has put an impact on the social life of
the students, their social skills, communication skills have been lower.
The changes in food habit, changes in sleeping cycle, changes in
behaviour and perception have affected their lifestyle and activities.
Now that the existence of corona virus does not haunt people rather
they are very cautious. So, the whole world has been evolving this
new normal.
Research Question:
Hypothesis:
The COVID 19 has changed and upturned our daily life. From my
research, I would try to assume how the students are affected and how
are they dealing with the changes. What mental and physical
conditions they are going through. What are the academic changes
and the impact of the changes on their studies. I would also try to find
out the financial condition of the students after the arrival of the
pandemic.
Research Methodology:
The survey questionnaires are mentioned below. The first three of the
questions are used for demographic analysis. The rest of the questions
are my actual queries.
This pie chart shows the number of students who found the online
classes helpful, who found it not helpful at all, and who were okay
with it. Among 35 respondents, 19 were okay with the online classes.
12 respondents found it not helpful at all. And rest of the 4
respondents found it quite helpful.
5. Did this pandemic of COVID 19 affect your financial
capability?
Through this question, I wanted to know whether the pandemic of
COVID 19 affected the students’ financial capability or not.
7. How often did you face load shedding in your area while online
class?
Electricity is the most important element for attending online classes.
This question was conducted to know how many of the students get
the continuous supply of electricity.
Among 35 respondents, 17 of them said that they could not find any
improvement in their grades. 10 of them found their grades as usual.
And the rest of people could find improvement in their grades.
11. Did you get infected with COVID 19 during your semester?
During this pandemic, many students got affected with COVID 19.
This hampered their daily life, academic performance and most
importantly their health. Through this question, I wanted to know how
many students got affected and suffered.
This pie chart shows the number of respondents who got infected with
COVID 19 and who did not get infected. 18 respondents said that they
did not get infected with COVID 19. And rest of the people said that
they got infected with COVID 19.
12. What type of mental issues had you faced during this
pandemic of COVID 19?
Mental health was very badly hampered during this pandemic.
Through this question, I wanted to know which type pf mental issues
made the respondents suffer during this pandemic.
This pie chart shows the number of respondents who suffered from
fear, depression, anxiety and all the issues together at the same time.
From this pie chart, we can see that 40 percent of the respondents (14
people) suffered from depression. 22.9 percent respondents (8
respondents) suffered from anxiety. 11 of them said that they suffered
from all of these. And the rest of the people said that they had fear
issues.
