MY LEARNING EPISODE OVERVIEW

This learning episode unravels the first activity given to me by my
cooperating teacher. This gives of a clear picture of the steps I have
followed and the materials I need to prepare to successfully implement
my first activity.

MY TARGETS (LEARNING OUTCOMES)

At the end of this activity, I will be able to:
 plan my first activity / episode assigned to me
 prepare my instructional materials
 perform my first activity well
 follow the instructions given by my cooperating teacher
 consider and reflect on the assessment of my cooperating teacher

MY MAP (LEARNING EPISODE DIRECTIONS)

To do my episode well, I should be able to:
1. listen well to the instructions of my
cooperating teacher.
2. plan the assigned episode. Do research if
needed.
3. prepare the instructional materials.
4. perform the assigned episode well.

MY BIG IDEAS (LEARNING ESSENTIALS)

To prepare for the first episode/activity, remember the PLAN, DO, CHECK,
ACT (PDCA), A PROJECT MANAGEMENT TOOL DESIGNED BY w. Edwards Deming. It
is also called the Deming Cycle.

PLAN Identify and analyze the episode
/ problem.
DO Develop and test potential
solutions / procedures to the
episode.
CHECK Analyze and measure the
episode in an informal way.
ACT Implement the best solutions /
procedures.

Note: Surf the internet or research in the library for more inputs about the PDCA
Cycle. (Ref: www.mindtools.com)

MY TASK (ACTIVITIES)
A. Complete the episode matrix
SULIRANING PANGKAPALIGIRAN – PARAISO INTERPRETATIVE DANCE GRADE 7
The given activity / assigned episode
THINGS TO DO
PLAN The said activity is an Interpretative Dance to be
presented by Grade 7 students. The section was
divided into five groups.
DO  Students are given a single song which they
will perform through an Interpretative Dance
 Students are allowed to use props.
 The rubrics for the said activity were given.
CHECK Since Interpretative Dance is quiet hard for Grade 7
students, they were given an ample time to prepare
and pertinent schedule to perform.
ACT 1. The competition is open to all 5 groups of Grade 7
students.
2. Each participating group can perform only one
entry.
3. There shall be a minimum of 7 performers. This
number includes the other personalities who shall be
on stage during the performance (e.g. propsmen,
etc.)
4. Each entry shall use the full and original version of
the first song “Paraiso” by Leah Salonga.
5. Narration is strictly not allowed. This competition
is designed for each entry to tell a story revolving
around the theme through dancing.
6. The performance shall not exceed seven (7)
minutes, this includes the actual performance,
entrance and exit of dancers, setting up of props (if
any) and the like.

MY ANALYSIS (LEARNING EPISODE DIRECTIONS)

1. WHAT BENEFITS DID YOU GAIN AFTER UTILIZING THE PDCA CYCLE?
 It can bring benefits where there are unknowns, often common at the
start of a project. So the PDCA process will ensure that the unknowns
are either proven or even discounted.
 The PDCA process will ensure that whatever the identified goal or
objective is, the repeated planning, doing, checking and acting will drive
forward improvement, because there is no room for complacency
using this method.
 Constantly evaluating, measuring performance and then re-evaluating
leads to substantial growth in improvements; sometimes by small
steps, sometimes by huge leaps. An Overview Of Plan Do Check Act (PDCA)

MY REFLECTION / MY INSIGHTS
RATE YOU ACCOMPLISHMENT USING THE CONTINUUM:

1 2 3 4 5
OUTSTANDING VERY SATISFACTORY SATISFACTORY FAIR NEEDS IMPROVEMENT

I RATED MYSELF satisfactory

BECAUSE I think since it was my first time to establish an activity in my
class, it was not quiet outstanding nor very satisfactory
ITHINK I CAN DO BETTER IF I was able to explain to them the meaning of the line
in the song “Paraiso”.
I LEARNED THAT Grade 7 students should not be overpowered since they are
yet young.
