Site Integration
Solar Turbines offers worldwide, regionally based, pre-installation consultation for package system upgrade or controls
system retrofit projects. The purpose of Site Integration is to work with Customer and contractors to develop a field
execution plan to ensure the smooth installation of the project work scope in an effort to minimize turbine
downtime. Solar utilizes highly trained and experienced Field Project Engineers (FPE) to provide this consultation
services.
Solar gas turbines, compressors and control system are designed and built to run for decades in applications critical to oil
and gas, power generation, and other industrial and manufacturing facilities. As technology has continued to
advance, Solar has been there to support its customers with the latest in control system retrofits and system upgrades.
These renewal projects are inherently complex, requiring the decommissioning of old systems and subsequent installation
of new mechanical, electrical and controls hardware. To reduce costly disruptions, Site Integration offers a focal point of
contact to assist in achieving a successful completion of the purchased upgrade. Also included is on-site support to help
coordinate the work your electrical, mechanical, and lifting and rigging contractors will be doing with the Solar installation
crew.
The scope includes creating project specific Contractor Work Scope documentation that will be provided to guide
installation contractors. You will receive the work scope document during the engineering phase of the project. The
document will include instructions on what needs to be done to support the installation of the upgrade for off-skid wiring
requirements, on-skid and off-skid interface points and your contractor(s) scope of work. The objective is to have your
contractor's scope approximately 85% complete prior to the arrival of the installation team. The Site Integration is a full
service but is also scalable.
The Assessment provides a Site Assessment document reviewing the assessment for integration of the upcoming
controls upgrade. A site visit will be needed.
The Consultant Service provides a Contractor Work Scope document and contractor meeting. This planning meeting
occurs when the contractors are ready to review their work scope as described in the work scope document. The FPE will
also help to plan and schedule resources as necessary and will walk through all aspects of the project, discussing the
tasks to be performed with the relevant parties.
2.0 COMMERCIAL
The following items are discussed in this section:
• Project Timeline
• Payment Milestones

manager will make confirmation of testing and delivery after receipt of order.

• Payments are due NET 30 days from date of invoice. Open account terms are subject to Seller's credit review and

Seller's invoice. In the event open account is not approved, at Seller's option, payment shall be made by commercial
letter of credit, in an approved format and with a bank acceptable to Seller, or by wire transfer prior to the release of any
goods for shipment.

3.0 TECHNICAL
The following items are discussed in this section:
The Consultant Service provides a Contractor Work Scope document and contractor meeting. This planning meeting
occurs when the contractors are ready to review their work scope as described in the work scope document. The FPE will
also help to plan and schedule resources as necessary and will walk through all aspects of the project, discussing the
tasks to be performed with the relevant parties. This planning meeting will typically last two days.
FPE Tasks:
• Definition of Special Tooling Required
• Identification of On-Skid and Off-Skid Modifications
• Clarifying New Hardware Locations
• Cable and conduit schedule/routing recommendations
• Review inventory and order any missing/damaged components
• Stage the inventory in the best location for the Solar Installation team.
• Review Customer pre-work for completeness
Out of Scope
• The FPE does not perform demolition, assembly or other mechanical services
• Re-commissioning is not included with the SI. The local District office should be contacted for Commissioning Support
PROJECT DOCUMENTATION
Solar Turbines goal is to provide a set of project documents that are accurate and timely. Documents are issued for
reference only; they are not subject to review or approval by the Customer.
SITE INTEGRATION
The Roles and Responsibilities tables below define the scope of responsibility for installation and re-commissioning
activities. These tables are typically reviewed as part of the Pre-Installation Meeting with the goal of reaching mutual
agreement between Solar and Customer. The legend below applies to the following tables.
PARTY DEFINITION
Customer Provided by Customer
Solar Provided by Solar
Customer & Solar Shared responsibility between Customer and Solar
N/A Not applicable
This table is a list of activities that are performed within the turbomachinery package and control console. The activities
are related to the scope of supply described in this section, and are specific to the PSN(s).
BALANCE OF PLANT
This table is a list of activities that are done outside the Turbine Package and Turbine Control Panel, but within the
systems battery limits. The activities are specifically related to the scope of supply described in this section. As an
example, a Solar supplied electrical device that is powered and monitored by the Turbine Control Panel but is installed in
the Motor Control Center (MCC) is considered balance of plant equipment. A Solar valve installed on a pipe valve skid
that is controlled and monitored by the Turbine Control Panel is another example of balance of plant equipment.
Generally, installation activities of such devices fall within the customer's responsibility unless indicated otherwise in the
table.
