Aside from man’s basic necessities, personal safety share an equality


important priority in our day-to-day life. External risks or danger pose to any
person from all walks of life at any place or at any given time, and thus
necessitate us to understand these threats in order to avoid them and lessen
their effects, should it be inevitable. Intentional injuries are injuries which
result from deliberate human acts or intervention. This type of injury poses
great risk on the part of the victim either through physical, mental, social or
behavioral effects. However, this can be prevented; for there are ways to avoid
such incident or at least to minimize their effects. What we need to do is to
understand first the factors that may lead to such kind of dangers and acquire
the needed knowledge in protecting yourselves in and out of these threats. In
this topic, you will be equipped with the necessary preventive measures in
controlling and handling intentional injuries.

At the end of the learning activities, the student should be able to:
1. differentiates intentional injuries from unintentional injuries.
