SKELETAL MUSCLE CROSS- SECTION
LOW POWER
MAGNIFICATION

Skeletal Muscle cells (A)

are arranged in
bundles (B).

Perimysium is a
connective tissue
surrounding a BUNDLE
of muscle fibers.
SKELETAL MUSCLE CROSS- SECTION
HIGH POWER MAGNIFICATION

Skeletal muscle cells (A) are

multinucleated are located in the
periphery (B).

Each muscle cell is enveloped by

a loose collagenous tissue known
as ENDOMYSIUM (C).

Take note of the continuous

capillary (D) supplying the
muscle.
SKELETAL MUSCLE LONGITUDINAL SECTION
LOW POWER
MAGNIFICATION
The entire muscle cell is
surrounded by a dense
connective tissue known as
EPIMYSIUM (B).

Skeletal myocytes (A) are

elongated with blunt ends
arranged in bundles and are
covered by PERIMYSIUM (D).
SKELETAL MUSCLE LONGITUDINAL SECTION
HIGH POWER
MAGNIFICATION
Take note of the
Endomysium following:
1. Striations
2. Location of nuclei
3. Number of nucleus
4. ENDOMYSIUM which
is a loose connective
tissue covering the
individual muscle
fibers.
