1.1 Solution Overview

From studying the provided information, J&C Joel understand the requirement for the Fire
Curtain system. The proposal comprises the following in accordance with the provided
information.

The following items are proposed as per the documents above:

- Fire Curtain (brail option)

Within this document, our proposal details below.

1. A brail fire curtain which is suspended from the top just above the proscenium
opening. When the curtain opens it folds / bunches up and stores neatly above the
proscenium opening out of view from the auditorium.
The curtain is a FABRIC ONLY curtain with wall-mounted guides and lift lines, see
description below.
The approximate weight of this system is 500kg spread evenly across the full width
of the fire curtain, to be confirmed.
Normally these curtains are used where there is restricted head-height and not
enough head-height for a straight-lift safety curtain.

The brail fire curtain system is the simplest and most cost-effective system of the two
described above.
This systems utilise Zetex fabric which is rated up to 30 minutes.
Zetex fabrics are woven from highly texturized continuous filament yarns and treated with a
proprietary vermiculite-based coating. The coating allows heat to dissipate evenly across the
surface of the fabric, significantly boosting its temperature rating and abrasion resistance.
1.2 Fire Curtain (brail option)

We have quoted to supply a 18m(w) x 9.5m(h) Brail Zetex fire curtain.

The fire curtain will consist of a fire curtain winch mounted onto the stage floor. The
winch will be complete with a hydraulic damper, to aid and slow down the last part of
the travel when the curtain is released, so it has a smooth landing at the end of
travel. The Curtain Itself is a Brail system, which consists of a series of drop lines
that terminate to a bottom bar within the Zetex Fire Rated Cloth which stacks and
deploy behind the proscenium wall. The system will have fixed steel guides either
side of the framework, and a padded buffer on the bottom for a soft landing.
Emergency release cables will be provided on each side of the proscenium wall, as
well as the control panel for raising the curtain on one side.

1.3 Preliminaries, Installation and Logistics

PRELIMINARIES

We will provide full design drawings (can be in SolidWorks and/or dwg, stp and ifc format as
well as PDF but BIM design not allowed for) including GA layouts and Shop Drawings, for
which we will require detailed As-Built construction drawings from the Main Contractor.

Project Management is provided throughout the Design, Manufacturing and Installation

stages.

Training, As-Built Drawings and an O&M Manual are included.

INSTALLATION

A team of two (2) experienced J&C Joel mechanical & electrical installation engineers will
lead teams during the installation period (estimated 3 weeks).

For the test-and-commission of the Control system, the appointed Control supplier will be on
site for a period of one (1) week to provide a satisfactory system and ensure all works
correctly.

General travel expenses included.

Accommodation and local travel expenses are included.

Load test is excluded for all systems as it is expected to be performed by a local

organisation.

LOGISTICS

Standard sea-freight carriage of all materials to port only.

 1.4 List of exclusions

Below is a list of exclusions as part of this bid proposal within the scope of works for the
Stage Machinery contract.

BIM design is not included in this proposal.

Materials:
- Secondary steelwork. J&C Joel will provide loading information and location requirement. It
is expected the design, supply and installation of secondary steelwork to be performed by
the Steelwork Contractor of which J&C Joel will liaise closely with.
- Electrical power & control cabling, containment, trunking and cable tray as required. J&C
Joel will provide sizing, cable types and routing advice. It is expected the design, supply and
installation of electrical cabling and containment to be performed by the Electrical Contractor
of which J&C Joel will liaise closely with.

Installation:
- Any cable installation or cabling works not included or described above is excluded.
- Any secondary steelwork works not included or described above is excluded.
- Access equipment excluded, this is expected to be provided by the Main Contractor.
- Forklift or any lifting equipment required during unloading excluded.

Logistics:
- Any and all import taxes, duties and clearance costs excluded
