bagong kasanayan #1
Soil Structure
Soil structure is the arrangement of soil particles into groupings. These
groupings are called peds or aggregates, which often form distinctive shapes
typically found within certain soil horizons. For example, granular soil
particles are characteristic of the surface horizon.

Soil aggregation is an important indicator of the workability of the soil. Soils

that are well aggregated are said to have “good soil tilth.” The various types
of soil structures are provided in Table 4.

To understand more our lesson the teacher will prepare a short

video so that the student will understand more the lesson.

1. What did you observed from the video?
2. What did you learn from the vedio?

E. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skill - The teacher will show different kinds of soil to which the

bagong kasanayan #2 students will determine to know what are the difference
kinds of soil.

Group 1 will discuss the soil Structure of the Granular soil and Blocky
soil

Group 2 will discuss the soil structure of the prismatic and columnar

Group 3 will discuss the soil structure about the platy and single
grained

QUESTION:
A. What can you observed from the activity that I gave to you?
B. How can you know if that your brainstorming is Correct? Cite
an example to connect your defense
C. Discuss from the class that you learned from our activity

F. Developing Mastery Lead to Formative Assessment)/ Now it’s your turn to discuss the different soil structure and how it
Paglinang sa Kabihasaan (Independent Practice) is important to us to know this.

G. Finding practical application of concepts and skill in The teacher will let the students to draw the difference

Pencil
Coloring Pen/Pentel Pen
Instruction;
1. Draw the picture from the given above and submit this if you
finished your drawing
2. After they pass the activity the student will explain of what is
importance about the Soil.

H. Generalization/ Paglalahat ng Aralin - What are the most important to know about the soil structure?
-What are the most important points in Soil?
-What are the characteristic of Granular, Blocky, Prismatic,
Columnar, Platy, and Single grained?
-How can you identify the Soil structure that we discuss to our
lesson?
-How can you tell if that soil is Granular, Blocky, Prismatic, Columnar,
Platy, and Single grained? From the given picture above

I. Evaluating Learning/ Pagtataya ng Aralin

Direction: Write true if the given is true and false if not.
1. Blocky is the irregular blocks that are usually 1.5 -5.0 cm in a
diameter.
2. Platy is the vertical columns of soil that have a salt “cap” at
the top found in soils of and climates.
3. Prismatic is the vertical columns of cm long usually found in
a lower horizons.
4. Granular is the soil that broken into individual particular that
do not stick together.
5. Columnar is a vertical columns of the soil that have a salt
“cap” at the top found in a soil of and climates.

ANSWER
1. TRUE
2. FALSE
3. TRUE
4. FALSE
5. TRUE

J. Additional activities for application or Remediation/ ASSIGNMENT
