Action Plan in Mother Tongue


Language reflects the spirit, the particular attitudes and values of all people. It reveals how they think and view the world. It is the principal means by which culture is
preserved and transmitted from one generation to another. Moreover, language is the key to access the great power of education. For this reason, the language of instruction and
learning in our educational system is an urgent issue that needs to be addressed.
MTMBLE is the effective use of more than two languages for literacy and instruction. It thus, puts an end to the Bilingual Education Policy ( BEP ) which has been in
operation for the last 35 years.
As a curriculum and teaching methodology, MTBMLE enables the students to participate well in education through the use of their L1. It is much more than just using the
learner’s first language to explain curriculum content.
